The history of the poker game

When and where did the poker game start? Well, unfortunately that is a question for which there is no absolute answer. The game seems to have evolved from various other games to the way we know it today and it has been suggested that poker-like games were played in China over 1000 years ago. Egyptians and Persians also used rank cards (face value) to play gambling games involving "bluffing" to deceive their opponents.
The card pack used by the Persians was called a Ganjifa deck and consisted of 96 cards and the Persian pack was 25 cards used to play a game called "As Nas"

The Spanish game of "Primero" dates back to 1526 and it is said that the French game of "Poque" and a German game called "Pochen" have evolved. All of these games involved bluffing and high stakes trying to make your opponent think that your hand is better than it really would be if you had a bad hand. The "Poque" was imported into the New World (America) by the French colonists and it is generally accepted that poker as we know it today developed out of this game prediksi HK played in New Orleans by the French colonists in 1829.
From New Orleans, the game was spread across the Mississippi by the players in the boats and the pack used at the time consisted of 20 cards consisting of four suits, each with Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 as cards of classification. It is mentioned that 20 card poker was played in 1833 and 1835 on the Mississippi river boats. It was during the gold rush of 1848-1855 that the pack is believed to have been converted into 52 cards (possibly so that more people can play?). There were always people willing to take their money playing cards as an easier option to try to find gold!

It was during the American Civil War of 1861-1865 that Poker became very popular with soldiers playing on both sides and Draw Poker and Stud poker first appeared. The Joker became a wild card around 1875. Draw Poker became the most popular poker game for almost a century until Texas Hold'em became the most played game in the 1970s.
