The different styles of bow headbands and how to wear them

When styled properly, bow headbands can be a great way to hide a bad hair day or add that extra bit of glam that you've always been looking for. Depending on the color and style of your hair band, it is important to remember how to style your hair with each appropriate piece. With a super-girly beauty trend, such as headbands with bows, make sure you wear it properly and in the right places, otherwise it may look dull. In this article, we will explore how to style your hair with different sizes, colors and types.

1. The big bow

These pieces are bold, statement pieces. The idea for these types of headbands is that it should be the focal point of your clothing. If you start adding too many accessories, paired with a large bow headband, it can become overwhelming. Large headbands look best when your hair is laid down in messy tassels or half up as in the picture to the left. Wearing your hair up in a knot with the top knot can make it seem thin. You can wear large bow  headbands for washing face to cover your bangs and part of the brow, or push it back on the hairline behind your ears for a more comfortable fit.

2. Knitted bow headband

These cute, knitted bow headbands are used to keep your ears warm during the cold winters. Although most of these headbands are large, statement pieces like the big bow headbands because they are knitted, it is more appropriate to use these as a scarf when you are outside. It is true that you can stay warm and look cute.

3. Floppy Side Bow headband

This look is right up to one of those days when you just want to keep your hair messy and natural. Place the overtop of your untamed mane for a hippie, boho chic look. You can also wear this type of headband as usual, but avoid placing it right on top of your head. It's easy to make yourself look like a teenage girl if you don't place your bow in the right place.

4. Tie-Up Bow headband

These are so cute and look good on someone. It is best to wear your hair up with these types of headbands to hide smells that do not behave properly or to hide a bad hair day. No one even knows! Go crazy for patterns and colors for these, it adds a lot of character to your hairstyle.

5. Small bow headband

Classic, elegant headbands with smaller bows can be used for formal events or to embellish your look for work. These thin bands also look great in fancy up-dos, whether for decoration to actually hold your hair together, they look great. These bands look great with a high-volume up-do, where the bangs are pushed back or the bangs split down the middle and curled to the side. These hairstyles literally take a few minutes to do and can add a ton of glam to your look.
